A reading for two one act plays, takes place in Athlone Little Theatre on Tuesday, February 1st at 7.30PM.

The first one-act ‘Wittgenstein in the West’ by Stephen Toomey, will be directed by Billy Nott, and requires three male actors in their 30s plus and one female (30 plus). This play centres on a German professor who comes to the West of Ireland for some peace and quiet and to work on his “philosophical investigations”. He is looked after by a local couple Din-Jo and his wife Peig Cait – and this relationship proves to be somewhat problematic.

The second short play ‘Tell Me Another Story, Sing Me Another Song’ by Jean Lennox Toddie, is a witty exploration of the irritations and misunderstandings that build walls between a mother and her daughter and the love and compassion that destroys these walls. The story spans the crisis and humour of childhood, adolescence, adulthood and old age. The cast will comprise of two females aged between 30 and 50 years of age.

All are welcome to come along to the reading on Tuesday, February 1 at 7.30pm in Athlone Little Theatre. Set builders, and anyone with technical skills or anyone who wants to get involved should also attend.
